Tools

Once connected, your assistant can call any of the tools below. Nine tools, read-only. The same information is available at connect time via the MCP tools/list method, so your assistant discovers them on its own, you never need to name a tool in a prompt.

Each tool requires the matching entitlement on your Upply account, listed per group below. Benchmark calls are deducted from your subscription quota, exactly as if you had run them in the Upply app, Data Hub calls are not accounted.

Benchmark

Price a specific shipment against Upply's observed transaction data. Returns a market range, not a single price.

Requires: the Benchmark module. Consumes quota.

• benchmark_road_emea — Benchmark road rates across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
• benchmark_road_na — Benchmark road rates in North America.
• benchmark_air — Benchmark air rates.
• benchmark_sea_short_term — Benchmark maritime rates on short term contracts (FAK).
• benchmark_sea_long_term — Benchmark maritime rates on long term contracts.

Data hub

Browse Upply's 200+ indices: UFI, fuel, energy, tolls, inflation, PMI, SCFI, BDI, rail etc. And pull a time series for any of them, past or future.

Requires: Data Hub access with data export rights.

• datahub_index_list — List every index available to you, with its id, name and category.
• datahub_index_get — Get one index's details, current rate and trend summary.
• datahub_index_rates_get — Get an index's historical rate series, rebaseable to any date.
• datahub_index_forecast_rates_get — Get an index's forecast, up to six weeks ahead. Available for Upply Freight Indices (UFI) only.

Index ids are opaque identifiers that cannot be guessed, so your assistant calls the list first on any Data Hub question.

Default values

A benchmark needs only two things: an origin and a destination. Everything else (market, equipment, goods type, quantity, surcharges etc.) is optional. When you leave something out, the tool applies a default rather than asking, so a short question always returns a result.
