MCP Overview

The Upply MCP server lets an AI assistant query your Upply data directly, in plain language. It uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard for connecting AI assistants to external tools.

Instead of exporting a spreadsheet and analysing it by hand, you ask your assistant a question and it calls Upply for you: "Benchmark Lyon to Barcelona and tell me whether my rate is fair", or "Chart the European road index against French diesel prices over the last two years".

No API key, no code needed.

Access scope	Read-only

Most supported assistants require only the server URL: https://mcp.upply.com. They discover Upply’s authentication settings and register automatically. You then sign in through your browser with your usual Upply credentials.

Some clients require additional configuration. Gemini Enterprise requires OAuth credentials provided by Upply. See Connect your AI assistant for the steps for each client.

Access and permissions

Your assistant sees exactly what you see in Upply. Access through the MCP mirrors your Upply app subscription, no more, no less.

Tool	Access
Benchmark tools	The Benchmark module in your subscription. Each benchmark run through the MCP is deducted from your subscription quota, exactly as if you had run it in the app.
Data Hub tools	Access to Data Hub with data export rights.

If a tool returns a permissions error, your account lacks the corresponding permission. Contact your Upply account manager.

Quickstart

Five minutes, no API key.

Add the server to your assistant using the URL https://mcp.upply.com. See Connect your AI assistant for per-client steps.
Sign in. Your assistant opens a browser window. Log in with your Upply credentials and approve access.
Ask a question:
