API 2.4 - Digital Love - Smart UFIs

📈 Smart: API UFIs

Increasingly requested by our Smart clients, but also by TMSs that were only interested in Connect, our UFIs provide clear visibility into the road, maritime, or air transport market. Some users wanting to buy capacity use them to position themselves in markets, for purchasing or waiting, depending on the urgency of their needs. Others, more in sales, oscillate between their spot or contractual offer thanks to them.

Now, these UFIs are available via API, with four types:

• GET UFI List: Retrieve the list of available UFIs and related metadata
• GET UFI Information: Retrieve the metadata of a particular UFI
• GET UFI Data - Past: Retrieve past values of a UFI
• GET UFI Data - Short Term Future: Retrieve future values of a UFI (short-term)

✅ Reminder: to use the UFI API, you must have the “UFI” option activated in your Smart subscription, please refer to your commercial contact if you have any question.

⚙️ Smart: Improved Error Messages

New error messages have been added following feedback from our Benchmark clients:

• If a company tries to benchmark but does not have an active Smart subscription → return an error Ensure your company has an active Smart subscription and hasn't exceeded the quota. Please contact your account manager or customer care.
• If a company tries to benchmark and has a Smart subscription but no more benchmarks available → return an error Ensure your company has an active Smart subscription and hasn't exceeded the quota. Please contact your account manager or customer care.
• If a company calls the UFI APIs but does not have UFI authorized in its package → return a customized error The Upply Freight Index (UFI) feature is not included in your current subscription. Please contact your account manager or customer care.

The goal is to give them more information directly in the error messages and allow them more autonomy in using our API tools.

Version 2.5 is already in preparation, more focused on Connect and its carriers!

In a few words, if our clients ask for:

• GET CAF Document: Retrieve the latest charter party confirmation (carrier & shipper)
• POST Load Status - Loaded: Change the load status to loaded (carrier only)
• POST Load Status - Delivered: Change the load status to delivered (carrier only)
• POST POD Upload: Upload the POD documents and change the load status to pod_uploaded (carrier only)
