API 2.5 - Voyager - Smart Sea Short Term

🚢 Smart: API Sea FCL Short Term

Until now, the Smart API only covered long-term sea freight rates. But short-term FAK (Freight All Kind) rates react much faster to supply and demand, and are the ones shippers and forwarders look at when they need to book quickly, challenge a spot quote, or decide between spot and contract.

These rates are now available through two new endpoints:

• POST Sea FCL Short Term (Single): Benchmark one port-to-port lane
• POST Sea FCL Short Term (Batch): Benchmark up to 100 lanes in a single request

What you can do with it:

• Benchmark port-to-port routes worldwide, using the seaport locode (e.g. FRLEH → CNSHA). The full list of covered seaports is available on our Open Data portal.
• Choose your container type: 20gp, 40gp or 40hc, from 1 to 10,000 containers.
• Include or exclude hazardous goods.
• Include or exclude THC (Terminal Handling Charges) at origin and/or destination.
• Benchmark on any date from January 1st, 2023 up to today (etd).

As with all our benchmarks, each call returns:

• The 5-rate spread in $/container (min, low, median, high, max)
• The confidence index (from A to E)
• Emissions: CO2, NOx, SOx, NMHC, PM10 and energy consumption
